Just when you think it’s all good…

I can’t complain. It is all good! Slight setback: Daz has resigned from his job. So just when we were looking forward to double income, that’s gone out the window. BUT as I said to him, it’s only money, and his happiness and wellbeing are much more important than any amount of money.

Still enjoying the new job, so that’s a bonus. First pay day tomorrow, so VERY excited! We’ll be rich! At least for a week or so (or maybe only a few days LOL!!!).

I got my new mobile phone today….very nice.

Mollie is all interested in Beanie Kids at the moment. Basically a Beanie Kid is a small, collectible stuffed toy. It is essentially a teddy bear, but they come in all different ‘costumes’. For example, there is a clown range, a fairy range, a monster range, an Australian animal range, etc, etc, etc. I have just found a really cool Beanie Kid website where I can buy them willy-nilly for her. They are not expensive, but they are EXTREMELY CUTE! One of the ones we just bought, ‘Salty’ the crocodile bear, will apparently one day be worth $150!! We’ll see. I’ll have to take some photos and put them up: maybe anyone who sees this will also become a collector! Then maybe I could be on commission with the manufacturer!!

Everything is good!

Day 1

Well, I did get to start on the 7th! How exciting! I’m doing an extended hours shift, which means I start at 12pm and finish at 8.20pm: different! Yesterday went quite well. As induction training usually is, it was totally boring and never ending. When I walked out of there last night I was totally stuffed. The facilities are really nice, all the people seem really nice, so it’s all nice! Mollie is going to find it hard, because she’ll only see me before school of a morning. I won’t see Darren much at all, lol! Never mind, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and if I’m not here to be taken for granted, they might start appreciating me a bit more: you never know. Gotta run, almost time to get ready and go.

I wonder…

what is going on in the universe at the moment? The new job: originally the position I applied for had a start date of May 7. They did offer me a position, but it was for a different intake, beginning June 12. Fine, a few more weeks of living hand to mouth. Today, they ring me and ask if I would be prepared to start on the 7th after all! Ummm….YES! They will let me know tomorrow.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, things are moving for Mollie’s violin teacher. A position he has been salivating over has come up, and although there are a few things needing to be sorted out, he hopes to take that up soon.

My dear friend has been having some health issues. We went to see the specialist today, and there has been a further complication which will delay treatment. She is devastated, but the thinking is that if this new problem can be sorted out, a host of other problems will rectify themselves, without the need of further treatment: in reality, this has turned out to be great news!

Another dear friend has also had some excellent news regarding the health of one of her children.

Mum has travelled a long way to a funeral, and has met some family members she has never met before. Despite the sadness of the loss, they are all really enjoying themselves, and really, the death has given new life to several relationships.

All of these amazing things have been happening ever since I began to consciously exercise gratitude in all areas of my life. Each night, before I go to sleep, I lie there and think of all the things for which I am grateful. There are many! This serves to focus my attention on the positive aspects, instead of dwelling on the negative. It sounds really corny and trite, but it BLOODY WORKS!

Tell you what, I’ll be grateful if I get to start work next week!
